New and Mobile technologies innovations and investments: lj4

People's future usage of social media will be more intimate, allowing them to converse and share more personal info with their friends and colleagues much more conveniently and efficiently.

“I also think that there will continue to be a big push towards making social media more private and secure for its users – this has been a big problem recently, and many people are just realizing how truly dangerous a lack of online privacy can be.– Lilach Bullock, @lilachbullock (2020) (Lipschultz, 2021)

Data mining, on the other hand, will be one of the most damaging side effects that users of social media will suffer in the future. Data mining is a major difficulty in terms of improving acceptable data analysis systems without giving up the right to access information from a variety of client data sets. Data mining security is one of the most prevalent concerns, since individuals who use social media generate large amounts of data that may be easily accessed by government agencies. This might be disastrous if the data was not used safely.

Mark Zuckerberg tried to give reassurance that privacy and safety need to be build in the metaverse from day one. (Zuckerberg, CNET,2022)

Talk about Meta, what you like, what you dislike.

The metaverse is a virtual world that incorporates numerous online activities and services, such as networking, entertainment, and entrepreneurial permutations, into a simulated world that anybody in the entire planet may appreciate.

The metaverse has provoked vigorous debate over whether it is a positive idea or will have deleterious repercussions for our society. Critics predict it will worsen the situation. I feel it is society's next natural progression with the internet.

Pros:

In the same way that social media has assisted the development of innumerable business prospects and produced a new style of marketing and promotion on its platforms, the metaverse will definitely bring many more options.

Rather than viewing everything through a small screen on your phone, the metaverse provides a fully immersive experience for promoting and consuming products and services by utilizing new marketing and advertising strategies such as virtualized storefronts, curated shows, and highly interactive engagement and customer service.

Cons:

On the internet, privacy has always been a constraint, with many users unaware that their data is being collected and sold for various purposes, including advertising.

The fact that Meta is leading the charge to create a new metaverse just adds to the anxiety. This isn't going away just because their identity has shifted, given their prior experience with user privacy issues.

What strikes you?

Users are oblivious to the fact that government entities accumulate private information and unstructured data about ourselves and the environment and utilize it to make technology behave in profoundly human ways.

How is the push towards technological innovation changing your life?

We can now receive the things we want immediately, supply routes have become much more efficient and convenient, and we can socialise with people we want to connect with regardless of the time, geographic location, or linguistic hurdles in everyday life.

How do you think it may impact work during your career?

One of the many important duties of a Data Scientist is to analyze data using predictive modeling, machine learning, and sophisticated deep learning techniques.

Industry information flow: We now have access to a fire hose of data and understanding how to manage and synthesize the massive amount of incoming information can be a challenge. At the same time, with the right tools, the data can be turned into actionable insights. (Lipschultz, J., n.d. Social media communication. 3rd ed. p.198)

  1. Hello Avery,
i can agree that privacy has always been an issue, it is very important to limit what you put out there because your information is being sold everyday.
