Hands-On Assignment 4
The
most intriguing issues that captured my imagination for this module assignment
was the reading in "Future of Social Media and Information Literacy"
and the video on Frances Haugen on Why She Blew the Whistle SXSW 2022 the video
that captured my imagination. In particular, the reading about the importance
of media literacy and the repercussions of failing to obey policy might result
in a worker quitting their jobs. For example, a lady in a high-ranking position
tweeted a private discussion tweet while flying to South Africa. There was a
social media frenzy of unfavorable cultural opinions of her tweet jest before
the plane could land.
By
the time she disembarked on the continent from her voyage, the firm had taken a
contractual policy choices to avoid being perceived as negative in
the public eye in order to eradicate her existence in the future leading
spokesperson. This was necessary just in case there were legal
implications as a result of her online unethical behavior communications to
such a large and diverse online community. This story allowed me to see
the bigger picture of online enslavement of freedom of speech, which most
people miss since it shifts from physical labor to mental anguish in both
professional world and private.
Meaning, I've activated and canceled social media accounts several times, owing to an obsessive desire to seek information in the form of context or photos in order to boost my brain's dopamine levels. In addition, I'd like to respond to other internet users about how I feel about a topic. More research in the neuroscience sector is needed on the subject of online users' addiction to freedom of speech. In addition, participation with every businesses' secret regulations on forbidden posts is essential. By stressing the employer's needed online conduct activities and offering materials with possibilities to assist them rewrite their digital image, as well as educating workers on how to prevent prominence in the execution of their role.
The social media teaching and learning capacities of the
"lady on the aircraft" were evidently jumbled, culminating in her
immature tweet of decontextualized behaviors. Because there is a lot of
pressure from the online community associated with peer cliques on social
media, learning from her mistakes helps me build stronger conversation-based
social media learning strategies and limit my material.
