Social Media:The Entertainment Industry:lj8
Do you use social media to interact with broadcast media?
no
Do you communicate with social media stars/influencers?
no
Do you communicate with others about social media
stars/influencers?
I do not discuss social media celebrities and influencers
with others because I have analyzed the extent to which an user seeks to
justify their masculinity to other influencers, and this has impacted my online
behavior. I have observed how violent messages are delivered through textual
analysis or video content that illustrates violent responses to virtual
interactions . This has created real physical injury outside of the
social media platforms. My belief is that these changes in our culture have
resulted in this pattern on social media, and it will never return to the days
of fist fights instead of gun battles.
Are you a social media influencer or Do you want to be an
influencer or some other type of Entertainment Industry star? Discuss.
No because social networks may be a non-trustworthy source of
news, and for most individuals, their real lives in the digital world are
muddled by reality. In certain cases, this allows users to presume various
aspects of other user's socioeconomic behavior, even if the user does not
disclose them explicitly.
Did any of your readings change your feelings, beliefs,
ideas about social media stars/influencers or how you communicate with or about
them?
Yes , Face-to-face communication enables for a more
instantaneous natural dissemination of knowledge, which enhances trust due to
the wide availability of facial expressions and body language to increase
thoughts. Empowering people to interpret people's emotions without making
mistakes improves the message as compared to written communication.
Discuss any other ideas you have about these
readings/videos.
Individual differences and perceptions of second screen
mobile platforms have significantly altered user behavior due to the general
linkage between a stronger correlation in consumer habits analysis and personal
concern about their smartphone. One of my favorite module readings was the
author's description of the impact of social media on the intellect when he
wrote this, “Rubin and Perse (1987a, 1987b) categorized viewer involvement with
soap operas or television news as affective involvement, cognitive involvement,
and behavioral involvement. An involved television viewer may feel affect
toward those in need on the show (i.e., affective involvement), consider the
messages of the show (i.e., cognitive involvement), and talk about the show
with others (i.e., behavioral involvement) during and after the exposure”(Guo, 2019).

Hi Avery, I really enjoyed your post! I liked your point of view when it comes to the topic of communicating with others about social media and becoming an influencer. I do agree social media networks can be non-trustworthy, and that influencers are totally different in real life and what they portray to the social media networks.
